Museum

I have a lot less time for that now than I did ten years ago, so there are only a few programs still of interest today. They are found on the software page.

Software Museum

These programs are designed for the Microsoft DOS operating system. They used to run on PCs with Intel's 80486 processor, or even older machines. Some were actually used on the legendary 8086 processor! Many don't require a hard disk, or this fancy new input device (a mouse), and of course run in text mode. Today, these programs are nice exhibits in the software museum.

Buchfink

A library management system for schools

Highlights:
This library management system is intended for schools, which typically have a small amout of titles (around 400), but many copies of each title. The number of people using the books is also small (often below 1000), but they are organized into a variety of groups (courses, classes), which must be handled efficiently. Buchfink includes its own DBase IV compatible database engine.

Highlights:
Adjustable worm speed allows playing this game on machines of different speeds, in theory even Pentiums. Uses the legendary CGA graphics card, which could display 16 different colors at the same time in text mode. A monochrome mode is available if needed by the physical display.
